Carter Elected President of Wolverine Bar Association

Michelle A. Carter has been elected president of the Wolverine Bar Association for the 2009-2010 term.

Carter was officially sworn in as president at the recent Wolverine Bar Association – Association of Black Judges of Michigan Presidents’ Reception held at the Renaissance Club in Detroit.

The Wolverine Bar Association, formed in the 1930s, is a predominately African-American organization whose members include numerous judges and other leaders of the legal profession. The Association takes an active role in community and political affairs and supports numerous professional activities, including a summer clerkship program, an externship program, a scholarship program and a judicial review program.

Carter, of Bodman’s Troy office, represents clients involved in complex commercial litigation and employment matters. She serves as secretary of the board of directors of Volunteers of America-Michigan and is a member of the board of directors of the Rutgers-Camden School of Law Alumni Association.
