Michelle A. Carter, a partner in Bodman's Troy office, has been elected to a three year term on the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association's Board of Directors.

The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association (DMBA), the oldest bar association in Michigan, is a nonprofit voluntary membership organization of judges, attorneys, law students, and legal professionals in the metropolitan Detroit region of Southeast Michigan. The purpose of the DMBA is to create a forum that allows lawyers and judges to improve the administration and quality of justice in their community through education, dialogue, and community activities.

An emerging leader in the Michigan Bar, Carter also serves as 2009-2010 President of the Wolverine Bar Association. She focuses her legal practice in a variety of complex commercial litigation matters, contract matters, real property matters and construction matters. Carter also has experience with labor and employment law, employment litigation and employment counseling. She is recognized as a Rising Star in Michigan Super Lawyers under Business Litigation. Before joining Bodman, Carter clerked for Hon. Theodore Z. Davis, presiding judge of the General Equity Division for the Superior Court of New Jersey.
